Mark 6:45-52

Why was Jesus going to pass by them in this story?

Can you relate to the feeling of being in a storm wihout assistance from above?

Exodus 33:21-23–God “passes by” Moses to reveal His glory.

1 Kings 19:11–The Lord “passes by” Elijah in a whisper and Elijah recognizes His presence.

When we look at these other examples in the Bible about God passing by, it gives new meaning to what Jesus was trying to do in Mark.

In verse 50, Jesus actually says, “I am.”

Ask God who He is when you are going through hard times.

God passing by you is actually God passing before you, revealing Himself.

This week, write down times in your life that it felt like God passed you by. Then write down who God was to you during those times.
