2 Thessalonians 2:1-8

The church has to be taken out so the antichrist can come.

“gathered to him” = the rapture

We test things according to the Word of God.

Some people get really upset by what they hear. (Like Y2K.)

There has been rebellion since sin entered the world, but this will be a “super rebellion.”

The man of lawlessness (man who brings destruction) is the antichrist. He will bring the tribulation. (See Daniel 9.)

The antichrist will bring the promise of peace but will actually exalt himself and set himself up to oppose God.

This man has been deceived into thinking he is God.

Paul had already talked to the Thessalonians about this. He wanted to make sure they had it right.

The antichrist is being held back.

We can have peace even if we have to go through the tribulation.
