When Will the Rapture Happen? (Pt. 1)

Daniel 9

The rapture is when the dead in Christ rise up and we are caught up and meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4).

We all agree Jesus is coming back, but the timing isn’t clear. Yet it’s not worth dividing over if we disagree.

There are three viewpoints: Pre-tribulation, Mid-tribulation, and Post-tribulation.

Daniel 9:1-6

Daniel’s trust was in the word of God. God said they’d only be there 70 years. He heard the word of the Lord and believed it.

Daniel also confessed their sins, recognizing that’s why they were in captivity. He accepted responsibility instead of casting blame.

Daniel 9:20-25

Gabriel is named. He later appears to Mary.

The order to repair Jerusalem later comes from Cyprus (Ezra 1).

Anointed one = Christ

Verse 26–“will be cut off” means the death of the Messiah.

Acts 5–Gamaliel explains how others proclaimed to be the Messiah. They know this Scripture from Daniel.

God has time in His hands (verses 26-27).

The ruler, the one who will come, is the antichrist.

“One set of seven” = final year (70th year).

The tribulation period is not for the church (per the pre-tribulation viewpoint).

Matthew 24:15-22–Jesus mentions the “abomination of desolation” (from Daniel 9:27).

Yet if the church does have to go through the tribulation, it will persevere.
