2 Chronicles 18:5-27
You can’t just pick and choose what you believe about God. Instead, you need to accept Him as He reveals Himself to be.
Four hundred people were telling Ahab to go to war. These were not prophets of God.
Jehoshaphat asked for a prophet of God (Yahweh). He didn’t want a “yes” man.
Ahab only wanted to hear what he wanted to hear.
Do we want truth because it’s the truth (not just what we want to hear)?
Even though the prophets were all in agreement, and Micaiah was encouraged to agree with them, he would only say what God said.
When God says something about your behavior, beliefs, etc., you don’t dismiss Him. You repent.
A deceptive evil spirit volunteers to do the job.
Satan came to kill, steal, and destroy. He wants to destroy God’s creation and people.
God had tried to reach Ahab with the truth, but Ahab turned away.
Even then, God used Micaiah to urge Ahab to repent. But Ahab refuses to receive the truth.
Are you an Ahab or a Micaiah?
How do you respond to the truth?
Did God love Ahab? Yes, or else He wouldn’t have sent a prophet to him.
2 Timothy 4:3-4–This is what Ahab was doing. There will always be someone who says something different than what the Bible says.
Will you listen to God’s truth?
