Mark 11:27-33
Jesus isn’t just a king, but the King of kings. He has complete authority.
Jesus should be involved in our lives not just on Sundays, but every day.
We can talk to God anytime. He wants to meet with you.
The chief priests and teachers thought they had authority. They questioned Jesus’s authority to overturn the tables and clear out the Temple (in the passage prior).
If their question was honest and from pure motives, it’s likely Jesus would have answered them. He told others who He was. But these men had conniving hearts and impure motives.
Honest people get honest answers.
John 2:24–Jesus knows the hearts of man. He could tell their motivations (and ours).
Jesus shows wisdom in how He responds.
The leaders didn’t know how to answer Jesus’s question, so they played dumb.
You need to have your heart right before God if you want true rest and peace from Him.
Deep satisfaction comes to your soul when you get your heart right with Him.
Jesus isn’t just your buddy, your friend. (Which He is.) He’s also the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Reverent fear of the Lord = I don’t want to let Him down. I don’t want Jesus to shed tears over things I’ve done.
The Bible is our authority because it is His Word and tells us about Jesus.
– 2 Timothy 3:16–God breathed the Scriptures.
– 2 Peter 1:21–All the prophets spoke from God as they were carried long by the Holy Spirit.
Romans 3:20-21–Saved by faith alone.
The joy we have while living on earth is due to the fact that we have a bright, glorious future in heaven.
Don’t be scared of His authority. Embrace it.
