The King is Coming (Pt 2)

Mark 11:12-25

When you accept Jesus as your King, He changes you.

God can do more than you ever thought possible.

Jesus isn’t just the King of Israel. He’s our King, too.

Saving faith is when you know you’re guilty and accept Jesus as your Savior. But faith doesn’t stop there.

Faith is a Kingdom principle.

Jesus was hungry. He was the God-man, and experienced hunger just like we do.

Bethany was where Jesus’ friends Mary, Martha, and Lazarus lived. It also might be where John Mark lived (he wrote the Gospel of Mark).

Jesus not only clears out the Temple but tells them why He does it. (He doesn’t always tell us why.)

Jesus is quoting Scripture: Isaiah 56:7 and Jeremiah 7:11.

House of prayer = this was the main purpose of the Temple.

For all nations = not just for the Jews but for Gentiles, too.

Selling the sacrificial animals and exchanging money in the Court of the Gentiles (in the Temple) prevented the Gentiles from being in the Temple. There wasn’t enough room.

God had a heart for the Gentiles. He wanted them to be able to worship Him.

Some of the leaders were making money off these exchanges in the Temple.

Historical sources tell us that Annas, a former high priest, got the biggest share of revenue from the selling of animals and money changing taking place in the Temple.

The Jews didn’t want the Gentiles to come to the Lord.

“Have faith in God.” God might do something that makes you scratch your head. He invites you to trust Him.

Faith is the engine oil in your life. It helps you get through the ups and downs.

Brag on God. “My God did this!”
