The King is Coming (Pt 1)

Mark 11:1-11

There’s only one person we answer to: Jesus. His opinion is the only one that matters.

Bethany–Where Mary, Martha, and Lazarus lived. They often opened their home to Jesus.

Jesus knew some things ahead of time.

God knows some things about your life, too. He is working things out for your good and His glory.

Why does the Lord want this animal (the donkey)? Because David rode a donkey in celebration when he was installed as king. And to fulfill the prophecy of Zechariah 9:9.

Jesus is a gentle King, not bringing condemnation, but salvation.

“God doesn’t have grandchildren. He only has children.” (Pastor Ed)

Everyone has to make their own decision for Christ.

Crowd shouting was quoting from Scripture: Psalm 118 and other passages.

Also alluding to 2 Samuel 7:16–that David’s kingdom would last forever.

This crowd believed Jesus was the Messiah. It was probably a different one than the one that gathered in front of Pilot shouting for Jesus to be crucified.

Mount of Olives–Jesus is here when He ascends to heaven, and Scripture says this is where He’ll return.

Those who are faithful will rule with Him.

When we ignore kingdom living, we are cutting ourselves off from Him, which leads to depression and a feeling of separation.

Would you appreciate a lot more if you took Christ more seriously?

God offers rest. Take it. (Matthew 11:28)

Jesus will not force His kingship on your individual life. You have to accept it.

Is Jesus your King?

Say yes to the King and no to yourself.
