Here to Make a Difference (Pt 1)

2 Corinthians 5:16-21

We are supposed to pray for others, stand in the gap for them. It’s one way we can make a difference.

In order for us to stand in the gap and make a difference, our viewpoint needs to change.

2 Corinthians 5:16–Christ’s love changed Paul’s view of people. Paul used to look at people based on their ethnicity. Now he just cares about their souls. Do they know Christ as Savior or not?

Paul once looked down on (opposed) Gentiles. Then God changed Paul’s heart and called him to minister to the Gentiles.

Paul saw people through the eyes of faith.

We may not know where people are at spiritually. People may look like a Christian but not be one, or vice versa.

God looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:77).

We are not to see ourselves as better than others. We all need Jesus.

Like Paul, we pray for people through eyes of faith.

– Don’t look down on them. Pray for them.

– Don’t see their wickedness. See their pain.

– What could they be if Jesus came into the picture?
