This week, we remember WHY we get baptized as we celebrate with one in our congregation who was baptized today.

It is a command of God.

Matthew 28:19-20–Great Commission

Water baptism is a reenactment of what happened to us when we received Christ.

1 Corinthians 12:13–We have all been baptized.

When you are baptized, you are publicly declaring your belief.

It is an act of obedience.

You are telling others what happened to you.

It is showing that you are not ashamed of the Gospel.

Baptism itself does not save you. It’s a symbol of your sins being washed away.

Jesus’s great love for us inspires us to obey.
