In this series about Old Testament feasts, we discover the purpose and meaning behind them–and what they mean for us today.
Leviticus 23:1-44
The Israelites honored the Lord with their first fruits.
1 Corinthians 15:20–Christ is the first fruit of a great harvest of all who have died.
James 1:18–We are a first fruit of all He’s created.
We are great because of the grace of God; it is not by our power.
Pentecost festival: a harvest.
Acts 2–God was harvesting souls (3,000).
God views us as more precious than gold or silver or money.
God is still harvesting souls today.
Feast of trumpets–don’t do any work (fall festival).
A time to think about how God was with them in the past and will be in the future.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17–Jesus will come back with a trumpet sound (rapture).
We will be with the Lord forever (and each other).
