In this series about Old Testament feasts, we discover the purpose and meaning behind them–and what they mean for us today.
Leviticus 23:4-7
Last week:
– Sabbath was made for man.
– It’s important that we take one day off a week.
– Be careful not to be a workaholic.
– The Sabbath is not meant to be legalistic (a burden).
Passover commemorated when God protected the Israelites during the plagues.
Exodus 12:1-13–the first Passover in 1600 BC.
1 Corinthians 5:7–Jesus is the Passover Lamb.
John 19:14–Christ died on Passover.
When Jesus was eating with His disciples, it was the Passover meal (the Last Supper).
The Passover is a Jewish concept, but it’s also a Christian concept.
Your good works can’t outweigh your bad works; you must rely on Jesus’ sacrifice.
Psalm 16:10
Jesus is the bread of life. (No yeast, no sin.)
Jesus lived for us what we could not live for ourselves.
We have too much yeast (sin) in our lives.
