A common saying in our culture is that Christianity is a crutch. Is it true?
Hebrews 1:9, 4:15; 1 John 2:13; Romans 4:8
Our religion has always been under attack in society.
Crutch = implement used by people for support when injured.
What do people use to aid their deficiencies? Material possessions, alcohol, food, smoking, drugs, sin, etc.
We DO need a crutch! It’s Jesus! We need Him, His power, and His control.
The culture says that Christians are weaker than they are; they can depend on themselves.
The church can be compared to a hospital. It’s full of wounded and ill people in the process of being healed.
We have to admit that we need treatment. We are ill.
Everyone needs a crutch.
We have a Savior that knows us. He knows what it’s like to be human (Hebrews 4:15).
He offers more than a crutch; He offers a cross.
