If we want to be effective and bear fruit in our lives and ministries, we need to work together in unity. This doesn’t mean we agree on everything, but that we agree on the important things.

Acts 11:1-18

When we face opposition, we have to consider that they might be right.

The Bible is a rule of our faith and our practice.

You can’t go against the will of God.

When we want to try something new, we need to test it against the Bible.

We will never go wrong if we keep the Bible center–its precepts, commands, etc.

How can you keep God center if you reject His commands?

303 AD–Christianity was banned; Felix was put to death for not surrendering His Bible.

It only takes one generation of people who don’t revere the Word to cause great destruction.

Peter knew to go to the Word when we face opposition, to seek discernment.

Thank fellow believers who correct your missteps.

Only God can change our hearts and only we can allow Him to do it.

Verse 18 contains a miracle, a change of heart.

God’s salvation is open to anyone.

Anyone who changes the gospel is condemned.

Question: How is your heart?

So much rides on our heart’s condition.

Lord, how can You change me so I can be part of a dynamic fellowship here at First Brethren?
