God oversaw all the details of Christ’s birth: from the timing to the place to the people involved. If God is in control of Christmas, then He’s in control of your life, too. And you can trust Him.

Luke 2:1-7

Joseph was part of David’s line.

Jeremiah 22:30–Solomon’s line was cursed and could no longer have a king on the throne.

2 Samuel 7:12-13–David’s line will have a king forever (fulfilled through Jesus).

Mary was also from David’s family line, not through Solomon but through Nathan.

God prepared the family for the arrival of Jesus.

John 14:1-4–Bridegroom language: the husband leaves for a time to add rooms for his bride.

“Jesus” means “God saves.”

Matthew 13:55–Jesus had four brothers, and sisters, too.

Life is not random. God is there and He’s working it out for a good purpose.

The first Christmas probably looked random, but it wasn’t at all. God chose them because of their character and their lineage.

God downgraded Himself to become human–all for YOU.

It’s evident that you are a follower of Christ when you think highly of His opinion and consider Him often.

Christmas was the beginning of something big.
