God’s promises cannot be thwarted. He keeps His promises. He will do what He says He will do, and He has the power to do it. One way God demonstrates this through the birth of Jesus.

Jesus is the pursued child.

There is an animosity against Jesus Christ in this world.

We don’t always keep our promises for a variety of reasons, but when God makes a promise, He keeps it.

In Genesis 3:15, we see the prophecy of the virgin birth and Satan’s role against Christ.

The devil hates the promises of God and always tries to thwart them.

Matthew 2:1-17–Satan (working through Herod) tried to stop Jesus at birth.

We can hold onto His promises.

No matter what you face, the pursued child is in your corner.

Satan has always hated Israel.

Revelation 12:1-6–The woman is Israel, who birthed Christ; the 12 stars are the tribes; the dragon is Satan; “snatched up” is Jesus’ ascension; “flees” refers to the tribulation.

Matthew 24, Daniel 3, 2 Thessalonians 2–abomination of desolation.
