Ecclesiastes 9:11-12

There are some guarantees we can find in God’s Word. These are things we can be certain about, truth we can stand on. In this and related passages, we see that we can be certain about eternal life through Christ. As a result, we should use the time (and gifts) we have to love others and testify to Jesus.

We don’t like uncertainty.

Habakkuk 2:4–The righteous live by faith.

A lot of people don’t know what their gifts are.

Everyone has gifts, according to God’s Word.

Deuteronomy 29:29–The secret things belong to God.

The swift, strong, wise, skillful, and educated aren’t always guaranteed success.

Is God unfair because people have gifts unequally? No. Encourage others in their gifts. Pray for others in their gifts. Look for what gifts God has given you and develop them.

1 Corinthians 12:1-11–We all have gifts.

If you don’t believe you have a gift, “that’s from the pit of hell and it smells like smoke.”

1 Samuel 17:47–David (small, “weak”) declares victory over Goliath (strong)

Is your success certain? No, but you DO have gifts.

Death is certain, but we don’t know the hour or circumstances.

Love, live, testify to Jesus while you can!

Our time of death is not a mystery to God.

John 11:25-27–We have an escape plan, thanks to Jesus.

Even if you die, you are going to LIVE.

John 3:16–You are guaranteed eternal life.
