Romans 8:12-13
The word “sin” has practically disappeared in today’s culture.
Romans 1:28-32–God abandoned people to fully embrace their wicked ways.
We aren’t embarrassed about sin anymore; there is no shame, our culture flaunts it.
The Bible says if you embrace sin, you will die (spiritual death).
Romans 8:6–Sin = death, following the Spirit = life and peace.
Galatians 6:8–There are two ways to live with no in between.
We are obligated to Jesus Christ because of His precious blood.
Romans 3:23-24–Jesus Christ makes us right.
It’s never beneficial to minimize the pull of sin.
What good has the flesh ever done for you? Absolutely nothing.
Colossians 3:1-8–Get rid of all sin since you are a new person.
If you don’t deal with it, it will turn its back on you and bite you.
Sin destroys lives here and in eternity.
Sin dangles the promises of happiness and satisfaction in front of you. It’s the bait that leads to misery.
Satan tries to get us to minimize sin and repackage it as a good thing.
We have to rely on the Holy Spirit daily.
Philippians 2:12-13–God is working within us to obey Him.
1 Timothy 4:7–Train yourself to be godly.
Sin starts in the mind and in the heart. Stop it right there! Cast it out.
Flee temptation, keep your eye on the cross.
The cross should make us hate sin, because it’s what put Jesus there.
