The Triumphal Tragedy

Mark 11:1-11

Things aren’t always what they seem.

No one but Jesus knew the full meaning of His actions.

John 12:16 — The disciples did not understand everything until later.

Zechariah 9:9 — The prophecy of the triumphal entry.

Every detail was planned out, just like in our lives.

He is in control; He is omniscient.

When you gave your life to Jesus, you gave up your control.

On Palm Sunday, Jesus is giving them a decision to make: accept Him or reject Him.

One either believes in Him or is offended by Him; we have a choice.

Hosanna: save me now.

Prophecy was not being fulfilled in the way they thought. They wanted a military savior.

Jesus only came to offer eternal salvation, not deliverance from Rome.

John 1:12 — He came for all and we become children.

If you reject Jesus, you must accept destruction.

Luke 19:41-44

Spiritual opportunities don’t last forever.

There is no middle ground.

The world that rejected Christ still rejects Him today (apostasy).

Mark 15:36-39 — One triumph that day.
